I have worked in the construction industry since August 1984. I have worked with two area masonry trade partners, and we did many jobs with Clark Construction over the years. As the years passed, I continued to interact with many different Clark employees on many different levels. Clark has a wonderful reputation as a solid company not only locally, but industry wide. I had the pleasure of working on the accounting for projects such as the FireKeepers Casino, East Lansing Schools, Haslett Schools, Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital, Sparrow Eaton Hospital, Central Michigan University 2019 and 2020 Summer Restoration projects, Washtenaw ISD, Chelsea Public Schools, Grand Ledge High School, LBWL Substation, several Maximum Security Prisons, and various other projects over the years. It is a great feeling to drive around the state and see completed projects that I know I played a small part in with Clark.
I worked with Lori and Lynn in accounting, and I have had nothing but positive and friendly interactions. I think I have worked with Lori for as long as she has been an integral part of the Clark Accounting Team, and we have always had wonderful communication. Being involved in Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) with Tony Rohac, long-time Clark Controller, and then Steve White; I often had communication with accounting employees at various seminars and events offered by CFMA. I have also had dealings with varying levels of project management on school and hospital projects, and I was always able to get very positive results whenever something was needed on the trade partner side of things. In my experiences, I can truly see how those I worked with were living by the Clark core values of competent, reliable, sincere, and care; truly working to build a foundation of trust.
In February, I had the honor of receiving an offer and accepting a position with the Clark Accounting Team, and I am very excited to continue my construction accounting journey on, “this side of the fence.” When I told people, and continue to tell people, where I am working now, I receive nothing but very positive and inspiring comments about Clark Construction and the people that represent them every day. Everyone has been extremely welcoming, and those that I have built relationships with over the years have reached out to personally say hello and congratulate me on this wonderful change. I look forward to helping grow the accounting department; assist the senior leaders and project management, get to know all the amazing people here, and to learn even more about The Clark Way, from the inside!
