Working at Clark has given me a different perspective of the value, quality, thought, and more on what goes into something that has been created or an idea or workmanship. There have been several influential employees that I have worked with. One person who will always stand out to me as a mentor is Clayton Swenson. I would consider him one of my first mentors with Clark. He gave me knowledge of construction as a whole and how to be a better leader and make decisions and stand behind them regardless of certain unsureness. Along the way he groomed me into being I feel a great asset to the construction industry. Always helpful and resourceful, he has helped me outside of work as well.
Its not easy to pick a favorite project for me, because I have been involved with many projects all at different stages of construction. In a way I would say I have contributed to the success of each project I have been involved with simply because everyone plays a part in the growth and success of a project from start to finish. Whatever project I am on, I would say what I contribute the most is a center or grounding way of looking at job site situations or issues. I am able to help settle the differenced in people opinions or point of view in order to come up with a solution. I am also a very organized person and when it comes to success that is a key skill when aiming to deliver the best outcome/product/building whatever it may be.
Some of my favorite memories at Clark are hanging out with my team members outside of work because we were able to create a bond and enjoy each other’s company. Simply going to grab a bite to eat and drinks after a stressful workday and laughing and enjoying good conversation with good people have built a lifetime of memories for me.
