75 Stories: Lyn Hewitt, Vice President of Human Resources

2021 marks the 75th Anniversary for Clark Construction Company. To celebrate, we’re using our employee’s voices to explain the impact Clark has made to ourselves, fellow teammates, communities, and clients. This is Lyn’s story.

It is challenging to summarize an appreciation of Clark in a few words.  I have been working in different roles in the construction industry for many years.  Some of these include field engineer, project manager, and purchasing / logistics.  During my time in this profession, I have observed several changes in the commercial construction space.  Even considering the positive progress and evolution of the industry, Clark stands outs as a place that is different.  This was clear to me after initial meetings with the leadership team upon joining the company.  The culture of Clark is unique and intentional.  The level of care here is unprecedented.



There is a supportive and collaborative atmosphere at Clark that can be felt.  When visitors come onto our sites and into our office, they feel that the vibe is positive and welcoming.  They often comment on this.  I attribute this atmosphere to our core values and the level of care demonstrated by our team for each other, our clients, our trade partners, and our projects.



Working with the Clark team has changed my perspectives and has changed me as a person.  This in turn has had a significant impact on my life and relationships.  There are not many organizations that will put primary focus (and investment) on their employees as the first priority.  This is a completely different approach than many other organizations I have experienced.  I am grateful for the team that has been built at Clark and the people that I get to interact with every day.
