75 Stories: Marty Schultz, Project Manager
2021 marks the 75th Anniversary for Clark Construction Company. To celebrate, we’re using our employee’s voices to explain the impact Clark has made to ourselves, fellow teammates, communities, and clients. This is Marty’s story.
I have been with Clark for over 11 years and I have worked on some interesting projects. Projects including: fighting the nates on Beaver Island; building a very large computer clean room; installing animal cage washing equipment; renovating housing rooms for testing lab animals so the conditions are very consistent to maintain good testing results; on a football stadium, tennis courts, baseball fields; and lots of asbestos abatement projects.
I received a call one Sunday evening in June from Robert LaLonde to be at Central Michigan University the next morning to help with the lightening strikes and flooding of buildings prior to students coming back! One of the most challenging projects was the Little River Casino project. Sam and Dan supported us at every turn. Some of the most rewarding projects have been the K-12 education projects. Nothing can beat the look of the students faces when they see their new schools or renovated areas and the satisfaction of knowing we are impacting their lives.
