Clark Expands Operations in West Michigan

Clark Construction Company, a nationally recognized leader in the construction industry, is expanding its regional footprint with a new office in Grand Rapids located at 146 Monroe Center St. in the historic McKay Tower. The Grand Rapids office will be led by Clark vice president and West Michigan-native, Dan Korte, and staffed by nearly 30 current employees, all from the west-Michigan-area, and plans to hire additional personnel.

The decision to add the new office location was prompted by Clark’s success in West Michigan over the past 10 years and project portfolio which covers retail, healthcare, K-12 and higher education, manufacturing, hospitality, municipal and more. In the last five years alone, the company has completed more than $500 million of work in the region including the VanDyk Mortgage Convention Center-Muskegon, Spectrum Health RAZ EC, Michigan State University Grand Rapids Research Center, Comcast GR renovations, City of Grand Rapids projects, Gun Lake Casino’s phase five, and various other local projects.

“Establishing our Grand Rapids office is part of Clark Construction’s growth strategy to support our clients and operations throughout Michigan,” said Sam Clark, president, Clark Construction Company. “We believe it’s important to work where we live and support our employees by building their communities and we look forward to being part of and contributing to the West Michigan region.”

This new McKay Tower office is located in the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, and offers Clark employees an opportunity to strengthen connections and relationships within the community, AEC industry partners and valued clients. Headquartered in Lansing, Clark Construction Co. also has offices in Alpena and Auburn Hills.
