The Joint Venture Team of Clark Construction and Ric-Man Inc. was awarded a $56.4 million lump sum contract to construct two miles of 96-inch diameter freshwater transmission main along Dequindre Road, in the city of Rochester Hills. This project represents the second of four phases funded by the State of Michigan Revolving Funds under a consent decree program.
Installation of the double welded steel pipe will utilize shored deep excavations with cathodic protection to mitigate long-term corrosion of the main. Other project features include the installation of Honeywell Ditch concrete box culverts, restoration and improvement of multi-lane roadways, and complete site restoration.
This project comes on the heels of the nearly completed seven miles of 54-inch transmission main also being constructed by the Joint Venture in the cities of Livonia, Northville, Novi, and Farmington Hills. This project provides the seamless transition of the project team to the new project location without interruption to the workflow or the mobilization/demobilization efforts.
