Beaumont Health System Troy Phased Powerhouse Expansion

The Clark team at the Beaumont Health – Troy Campus completed the steel erection for the new Powerhouse project. Three (3) large CAT generators – 1500KW and 2000KW – were installed through the removable steel roof monitors that sit on the roof structure. The generator exhaust stacks are routed through an eight-story exhaust shaft in the existing Critical Care Tower. A 50,000 – gallon underground storage tank was installed after generator delivery and a (1425TN) Trane centrifugal water chiller was installed as well.

Once the Powerhouse was completed, it was followed by the installation of two (2) new 13.2kVA transformers at the new substation. The new substation, a new Oxygen tank farm, and two (2) additional cooling towers where installed later to give Beaumont greater redundancy and capacity of their critical utilities as they continue to expand their campus.
