As part of the 2009 Bond Program, the existing Finney High School was replaced by a new 221,000 sq.ft. High School on the same site, designed to accommodate up to 1,200 students. The state-of-the-art facility boasts four wings housing eight science laboratories, an advanced media center, an athletic area featuring a community health clinic, and an impressive performing arts center encompassing an 800-seat auditorium, a black-box theater with scene shop and dressing rooms, a 2,400 sq.ft. band room, and a 1,900 sq.ft. choir room. Anchoring these wings, a versatile cafeteria commons also serves as an assembly area.
Within the indoor athletic wing, a gymnasium with seating for 1,300 spectators and an 8-lane competition pool with diving well, accompanied by balcony seating for 230, cater to sports and events. The outdoor setup includes a football and track-and-field complex complete with stadium seating for 1,100 attendees. Complementary facilities comprise four tennis courts, varsity baseball and softball fields, and dedicated event parking. Furthermore, the project incorporated a distinct $6 million contract for the Kettering Special Education High School addition. This endeavor was a collaborative Tooles/Clark effort, undertaken through a Design/Build contract with Albert Kahn Associates acting as the Architect.
