The Greater Midland Community Center includes a new 120,000 sf Recreation Center constructed on the existing Midland Community Center property. The new building replaces the 65-year old structure that remained open while the new building was completed. While the previous facility — measuring about 240,000 sf — was larger, the new site was designed with more operational efficiencies. The new facility includes multiple gyms, leisure and training pools with aquatic elements that include an indoor water slide that partially spiral outside, a fitness/wellness center that includes rooms open 24 hours a day and seven days a week, a community area and early childhood education area that serves kids in the summer camp program as well as youth sports and recreation for schoolage children and adults.
