Ionia Maximum Security Prison

Embarking on a groundbreaking endeavor, the construction of a new 440-bed prototype maximum security prison unfolded across a vast 55-acre landscape. The comprehensive scope entailed earth balancing exceeding 550,000 cubic yards and the creation of a perimeter road to encircle the site.

Within this visionary complex of 9 distinct buildings, 5 housing units seamlessly merge with an administration building, food service and dining facilities, health care and maintenance spaces, an industries building, and an education facility. These structures, composed of brick and block, incorporate sophisticated security systems, with guard towers seamlessly incorporated midway through the project. The facility stands fortified with cutting-edge detection and locking systems, exemplifying the pinnacle of security measures.

The Clark team expertly orchestrated the project, harmonizing diverse engineering efforts, conducting thorough constructability reviews, implementing value engineering, conducting meticulous cost and budget analyses, ensuring safety coordination, crafting precise schedules, upholding stringent quality control, and skillfully managing construction coordination. Remarkably, Clark completed this monumental undertaking $3 million under budget and 5 months ahead of schedule, a testament to their unwavering dedication to exceptional execution.
