Clark Construction Company, in joint venture with White Construction, partnered with Michigan State University to deliver the Multicultural Center—a student-driven space designed to foster connection, cultural expression, and belonging.

Located at the prominent intersection of Farm Lane and Shaw Lane, the 32,000-square-foot facility was shaped through direct student involvement from visioning through construction. The building prioritizes flexible, welcoming spaces for gathering, reflection, and collaboration, including a central living room, community kitchen, reflection rooms, technology-enabled meeting spaces, and an outdoor ceremonial fire circle.

Constructed within one of MSU’s busiest campus corridors, the Clark–White team carefully coordinated logistics, safety, and campus operations while implementing innovative structural and geotechnical solutions to support the building’s distinctive cantilevered form. Built to LEED standards, the Multicultural Center now serves as a visible symbol of MSU’s commitment to inclusivity and student experience.
