University of Michigan Stephen M. Ross School of Business

This new state-of-the-art building is 270,000 sq.ft. with six floors (with 12 classrooms per floor), a 500-seat auditorium and colloquium, faculty offices, student service activities space and a central gathering space that provides seating areas and a food court.

Project elements include an enclosed glass winter garden (which is the center of the collaborative learning community), tiered classrooms, ascending copper roof, terracotta/glass exterior skin, and roof terraces and gardens.

The LEED Silver building includes numerous sustainable features, which includes three green roofs with drip irrigation, underfloor air system, energy efficient lighting, low-consumption plumbing fixtures, and on-site water retention/reuse. During construction recycled content and locally-manufactured construction materials were utilized to the maximum extent possible.
