Madonna University’s innovative 64,000-square-foot building, envisioned by the SmithGroup, encompasses a range of cutting-edge facilities. Nine advanced laboratories, complemented by 13 support rooms, foster scientific exploration, while a high-tech lecture hall accommodating 156 seats facilitates immersive learning. The building houses an all-digital television production studio, radio production studios, video editing labs, classrooms, and conference rooms, complemented by 25 offices.

The Center stands as a hub of specialized labs for astronomy, quantum physics, genetics, and microbiology, enriching the experience for science students. Media enthusiasts benefit from an avant-garde TV studio/sound stage and 16 individual media workstations, equipped with cinematography gear, visual effects software, and a green screen for creating advanced special effects. Beyond its academic prowess, the structure marks a significant milestone for Madonna University, serving as the institution’s first standalone edifice in four decades and Livonia’s inaugural LEED certified building. The sustainable design incorporates eco-friendly materials such as cork, bamboo, recycled content carpeting, and low Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) paint. Abundant natural light, a partially sedum-covered roof, and a thoughtfully designed water system further contribute to the building’s sustainability profile.
